Tate Robertson

Before I lived on the west coast, I’d fly out every so often with my camera in my carry-on and do some shooting for my friend tate robertson. This is what we did in two different weekends in 2017, for his Ride or Don’t album release, including a pair of music videos, single artwork, an album booklet, teaser trailers and portraits.

Tate wanted a music video that felt stagnant and bleak. I made one. Then he wanted another. Check them out above and below.

When Tate was ready to release a few singles, I designed the artwork.

I put the album booklet together, too, when the time came.

Short vignettes, above and below, stitched together from music video footage helped drum up anticipation on Instagram and Facebook.

I shoot on a Blackmagic Cinema Camera, which outputs every frame of video as a 2.5k RAW CinemaDNG image that can be repurposed as still photography. So we shot two music videos...and 20,000 photos.
